Evaluación de la Atención Domiciliaria en Atención Primaria

Abstract

Aims:
Knowing the situation of Home Care in primary health care in our Area. 

Methodology:
Among the 318 patients/caregivers who received home care between July 2020 and June 2021, 150 were randomly selected, to whom a telephone survey was asked.

 Likewise, a self-completed survey was proposed to the doctors of the Service.

The Satisfad-14 and Font-Roja questionnaires were used, to which complementary items and open questions were added.

Results:
The age of the users was 84.8 years (SD ± 8.09) and 31.8% had no caregiver. 83.8% of the caregivers were women. 82% considered the appointment request process simple, although caregivers presented fewer difficulties than patients (p=0.001). 27.3% were attended to on the same day as the request and 65.3% would like to be assessed once a month. 60% of users were very satisfied and 49.3% considered this care better than the previous one at clinic. All the doctors make home visits, most of them arising on demand and 50% of the professionals making them during working hours. Most consider additional means necessary at the time of the visit. Among the positive aspects, the accessibility and knowledge of the environment stand out, and among the negative aspects, the difficulties in contacting the clinic and the lack of time. The number of visits was not influenced by the pandemic and after it and, despite the fact that the job satisfaction of Family Doctors is good, discouragement and the feeling of excessive work stand out.

Conclusions:
Patients show favorable responses in terms of accessibility and satisfaction with the care received. Physicians value the care provided and their laboral status although they demand more time.
