Abstract

ABSTRACT:
Objective: to obtain recommendations based on the currently available evidence about the management of ascites of neoplastic origin.

Design: bibliographic review.
Site: primary care, hospital, hospital at home units.
Results: there are not many studies, most of them retrospective, so the degree of available evidence usually reaches level III-IV of expert recommendations in most series.
Conclusions: nowadays there are several treatment options. The choice of one or the other will vary depending on the oncological process, the preferences of the patient and their caregivers, and life expectancy.
