Abstract

Lower limb ulcers are chronic lesions that significantly affect patients’ quality of life and represent a high healthcare cost. This clinical case describes two patients with mixed ulcers (venous and arterial) who were treated using short-stretch bandages and compression therapy. The HEIDI acronym (History, Examination, Investigation, Diagnosis, Intervention) was used to structure the therapeutic approach. Both cases involved long-standing ulcers; one fully epithelialized after four months of treatment, while the other showed significant improvement with increased granulation tissue. The intervention included the use of short-stretch bandages, proper ulcer hygiene, and continuous monitoring. The methodology proved effective in reducing ulcer size and improving patients' quality of life, highlighting the importance of systematic assessment and a personalized treatment approach.
